Working Requirements
Generally, you will need to be at least 15 years of age to apply for employment with Coles. For some brands, other minimum age requirements apply. For example, for Coles Services, you will generally need to be at least 16 years of age to apply for employment.
For Liquor and distribution jobs, you will need to be at least 18 years of age. Minimum age requirements differ by state and territory. Refer to the Fair Work Ombudsman website for more information, which can be found by clicking on this link: Minimum working age - Fair Work Ombudsman.
You will be required to provide your date of birth, which will be verified as part of the recruitment process. In some cases, we may need your parent or guardian's written permission to allow you to start working with us. If so, we will let you know during the recruitment process what we need from you in this regard.
Yes, all team members who are employed must have the right to work in Australia. We will request documentation from you to demonstrate your right to work in Australia during the application process and you will need to upload original documents to your profile, which may include:
- Australian or foreign passport or
- Australian birth certificate and photo ID or
- Australian citizenship certificate and photo ID

Interviews
Onsite interviews are held in store with the manager and up to 3 other candidates. Onsite interviews provide candidates with a realistic job preview, ensuring they can make an informed decision about the role and working at Coles.
You will receive confirmation of the outcome of your interview.
Due to the high volume of interviews we conduct, we are unfortunately unable to provide specific feedback for each individual.
You’ll receive an email letting you know the outcome of your interview shortly. At times, we’re working through large volumes of applicants and will get back to you as soon as we can.

You can complete your virtual interview using a smartphone or tablet. Just open a web browser, log into your Coles Careers account, and follow the prompts.
All available interview times are shown in the booking system. If any additional time slots become available, we’ll notify you via email.
The timeslots that are listed in the online interview booking are the only time slots currently available. If any further interview times be released, you will be contacted via email.
After booking into your interview, you will have received a confirmation email. In this email is a link you can use to reschedule your interview.

If there are no interview bookings available, that means all interview times are currently fully booked. Should further interview times be released, you will be contacted via email. If there are no additional times that suit, we ask that you instead cancel the interview to notify that you will not be attending.
