Don't get caught out by a scam!
We're seeing increasing reports of individuals being contacted by scammers. Remember that Coles will never ask for a "chat-to-chat" or text-based interview and will never ask you for any credit card information as part of the recruitment process.
Here's an example of a real scam that has been circulating amongst our candidates:

- Won’t contact you out of the blue via channels such as WhatsApp or Social Media
- Won’t offer you a "work from home" remote opportunity that promises little effort for a high salary
- Won’t ask for your credit card information (Coles will never charge any sort of fee as part of its recruitment process)
Also, Coles will never ask you to do a "chat-to-chat" or text-based interview. All Coles interviews will be face-to-face, over the phone, or via a video platform. All official recruitment correspondence will come from an @coles.com.au, or @mail.colescareers.com.au email address.
- Immediately contact your financial institution so they can be on the lookout for suspicious transactions.
- Change your passwords for sensitive accounts such as banking and email.
- Contact IDCare, who supports members of the community across Australia and New Zealand who have concerns about their identity or related cyber security.
- Report the scam to the ACCC's Scam Watch to help the authorities deal with the it appropriately.
- Tell your friends and family about the scam to help them avoid it.
