Welcome to Coles Manufacturing.
Our Operations and Supply Chain teams play an important role in how Coles is able deliver our purpose of helping Australians eat and live better every day.

With strong partnerships with over 8,000 Australian suppliers, we operate 3 manufacturing facilities: Chef Fresh in Geelong (VIC), Banksmeadow (NSW), Retail Ready Operations in Erskine Park, and Fresh MilkCo in Laverton and Erskine Park. Together, we produce and supply convenience and fresh meat products and milk to supermarkets across the nation.

Meet the Coles Chef Fresh Team

How would you describe the culture here?

Nisha: The culture here is diverse and inclusive. We are all from different backgrounds, but we all are a team.

Gurpreet: I just feel like I’m working in my family, with my family. The whole environment is very nice here.

Peter: I find the culture at Chef Fresh very inclusive, with lots of nationalities.

Melissa: There is so many nationalities here. They all respect each other, and they work really, really well together. And I think they can all learn from each other.

What do you love most about your role?

Melissa: The thing I love about my role is that everyday is different and that there is always something new to learn.

Peter: You cook different stuff every day so different challenges every day.

Gurpreet: The people and environment is very friendly here.

Nisha: I can talk with them, I can give them instructions.

What has been your biggest surprise?

Gurpreet: My biggest surprise, working with Chef Fresh is the volume of different products which we produce every single day.

Melissa: How much actually goes into the products from the amount of ingredients, how much care is put into packing the products into the tray and even the design labels. So much goes into it and people don’t realise that.

What are the best things about having Coles Group as an employer?

Melissa: Coles as an employer is a really good company to work for. They are located across the entire country, which means there’s so many opportunities available to you if you would like them.

Gurpreet: Job flexibility and also job security, which helps me to provide for my family.

What advice would you give someone thinking of joining to help them set up for success?

Peter: The advice I would give some starting at Coles would be to learn as much as you can and hard work.

Melissa: I think its important to come in with an open mind and be ready to learn.

Nish: Do your best. Always be keen to learn.
Gurpreet: Take every day as it comes and have a lot of fun.
