Video 1: Day in the life of a Coles Team Member
Nick: Hi, my name is Nick.

Natasha: My name’s Natasha and I am a Customer Service Team Member here at Coles.

Nick: I started out pushing trolleys and then from then I went into service.

Natasha:  A typical day would be greeting our staff members ensuring that everything is organised and getting everything prepared for the day so that we can provide the best customer service.

Nick: The best thing about my job is definitely the community. The feeling of whether it's team members or customers, just chatting, having a bit of banter and just enjoying yourself is really good. I used to work at a store about five years ago, and when I shop there some of my old regulars would still come in and just check in with me see how life's going. Yeah, it's a good feeling.

Natasha: We get to see different customers come through. We talk to different customers each day. We get to share a laugh. If you notice that a customer might not be having the best day, we can really turn that around with just a simple smile or offering an ear to listen to their stories, and we can really see a change when they're leaving the store.

Nick: Proudest moment was working with a certain customer who had trouble with her card. She was struggling to get her card working, stressing out, feeling embarrassed. I just told her to be calm, relax, take your time. She really appreciated that.  So, she sent a message up to head office and the CEO recognised me personally with a personalised card.

Nick: A piece of advice for someone joining Coles is just to jump straight in. If you like chatting with customers, talking to people, working in a team environment, this is the job for you. Run with it with your own personality then you'll really shine.  Ask a stupid question instead of having a stupid mistake.

Natasha: There's no harm in giving it a go. It's a great company to work for.
My favourite product at Coles is definitely our ready-made salads and our Coles kitchen products.

Nick: Definitely the Coles cookies. I love them!

Video 2: Day in the life of the Liquorland team
Craig: My name's Craig. I've been with Liquorland for two and a half years and I'm the Store Manager at middle Camberwell.
Dhaval: I'm Dhaval, Store Manager for Coles Liquor. We’ve worked at the business for more than 13 years.
Craig: A typical day for me is basically opening a store, service of customers, coordinating rosters.
Dhaval:  Getting the store ready for the trade as well as planning for the deliveries, coordinating with the team members incoming, helping customers throughout the day. Every day is different. That's what I like. New challenges, and you overcome that and take a pride in your work.
Craig: Biggest surprise for me is the flexibility that they’re able to provide me with my daughters playing sport on weekends. So they’re able to provide me Sundays off so that I could enjoy that family time. And that really was fantastic to see.
Dhaval: Support is numerous.  You can talk to anyone. You can talk to your State Manager, even though you have emails handy for your Executive Directors. You can email them straight away, and they will give you a reply straight away as well.
Craig: Tim loves a call.
Dhaval: Yeah.
Craig: Loves a phone call.
Dhaval: Yeah.
Craig: Proudest moment working, yeah when you become Store Manager it was pretty daunting for my experience. I'd never ran a store before. So for me to come into a brand new sort of role at Liquorland was really exciting. I don't mind wine, beer, maybe everything. It could be I don't know about Dhaval but I enjoy it.
Dhaval: I’m pretty simple on that. One beer James Boag’s Premium Lager. I'm a beer drinker and I'll stick to that.
Craig: Fair enough.
Craig: A piece of advice I would give is get excited. For my first day of joining, I've never stopped learning. And I think if you're looking for a job where something's new and changing. And especially this time at Liquorland, there's a lot going on. And I think that the best advice I could give to them is to strap in and enjoy it because it's a great ride it's really good.
Dhaval:  It's a great place to work, very flexible working arrangement.  And if you love customer service this is a place for you.

Video 3:  Day in the life of the Coles Local team
Sean: My name’s Sean, and I’m a Store Manager at Coles Local.

Tash: Hi, I’m Tash. I’m a Coles Local Team Member. Every day for me looks a little bit different, depends on what department I’m in. If I’m in fresh, I’m filling stock. If I’m in service, I’m helping out customers. Depends where I am for the day.

Sean: To be honest, I do a little bit of everything, wherever I’m needed the most. Doing the rosters, and kind of managing the people in the store, and helping really support them to make this a great place to shop.

Tash: I think the really cool thing about working at Coles Local store is you have your regular customers that come in all the time, and the whole team recognises them, and you get to really create a special connection, I guess, with those customers but also within the team as well.

Sean: So the proudest moment, I would probably say, actually, is seeing the team being successful, whether it is someone like Tash, you know, stepping up into a new role, and played a very small part of that. You know those moments really matter to me.

Tash: You know, we try and build a supportive team at Coles, and I think that kind of translates across into how we interact with customers as well. A lot of the Coles Locals having regular customers that come in that lots of team members recognise, and you know, we like to build those connections with people, so it kind of extends from the team across to our customers as well.

Sean: I think the biggest piece of advice I’d give to new team members is have confidence in yourself.

Tash: I would say definitely come in with an open mindset and be ready to learn new things. I think as a customer shopping at a supermarket, you don’t get to see a lot of the behind the scenes that happens at a Coles store.

Sean: You probably can do more than you actually think that you can do. So have the confidence in yourself, and you’ll be able to do anything you want to do at Coles.
